Top O' the Mornin' to You

It is St. Patrick's Day and I am enjoying a lovely Key Largo sunrise.  It is a beautiful refreshing morning and I am trying to decide whether I should ride my bike in the annual St. Paddy's Day Parade to Snapper's Turtle Club Bar.  I am leaning towards not as the heat has been intense lately and I have been feeling a tad under the weather.  In any event, we will be attending a traditional Irish meal of Corned Beef and Cabbage with some dear friends.  That should put me to rights!  This will be our last time in the Keys so I am feeling a little nostalgic right now.  Just a couple of weeks more to feel a part of this special place and then we move on to new adventures.

Sold!

Well, I have been neglecting my blog for awhile as we were in the midst of negotiating a house sale.  I felt as though my life were on indefinite hold.  Now, I can breathe again and plan seriously for the next chapter in our lives.  We are finally able to do what we have been planning for a long time, move from Ontario to Victoria in beautiful British Columbia.  I am very excited!  As I like to say, I spent 20+ years in Newfoundland (love it still), stopped over for almost 50 years in Ontario (which I also love) and I am now ready to finish it up on the West Coast!  Meanwhile, we will enjoy our remaining time in the beautiful Florida Keys.  I hope to keep sharing our hopes and plans as we set off to explore new territories and fresh adventures.

Finally Feels Like the Keys

We have been here in the Conch Republic for about three weeks and the weather has been decidedly cool, blustery, and, yes, too often rainy.  Not really what we had been expecting in the Keys and, yes, we are spoiled.  This was the first morning when it was mild and sultry enough to sit outside on the balcony and appreciate the beautiful sunrise while sipping several cups of morning coffee.  Let's hope we have turned a corner here.

Blog about Nothing

Maybe a more accurate title might have been GrannyWantsToKnowHowToBlog.  Now that I have more-or-less figured out how to blog, I have to start thinking in terms of what to actually write on here.  Turns out, I don't seem to have that much to say, really.  Oh well, that went pretty well for Seinfeld and company, so maybe we will stick with it for awhile.

Off and Running

Well, I guess I am more off than running these days.  Since I cannot convince the old knees to get back to the walking, I guess I will let my fingers do the walking, as the old ads for Yellow Pages used to say.  Perhaps I should consider myself more 'free-wheeling' as I can still do some serious cycling!  Ultimately, I want to make this blog about things that strike my fancy and my attention span is pretty volatile on the best of days.  So hang on, be patient, and I will try to make the learning curve as flat as possible, just the way I like my bike routes!
